Q. Is Online Banking secure?

 
A. Yes. Besides using 128-bit encryption, Luso American Credit Union’s Online Banking is built with several additional safeguards to ensure your account information remains secure. Should someone attempt to access your account portfolio using an incorrect password more than three times, Luso American Credit Union will lock the entire session. For your protection, in order to “unlock” the session, you will need to contact a credit union employee. Should you forget to logout of Online Banking, your session will automatically be terminated after 20 minutes of no activity.

Q. What if my ACCESS ID and/or PASSWORD don’t seem to work?
 

A. There are a couple solutions to this problem. The most common issue is the placement of your CAPS LOCK key. Your ACCESS ID and PASSWORD are case sensitive. The second most common issue is a complete lockout of your account. If you weren’t sure of your PASSWORD, and began guessing or didn’t realize that you were entering your PASSWORD in the wrong case, you had only three chances to get it right. As a security feature, we lockout all accounts if an incorrect PASSWORD in entered on the third try. Then the only way to reset a lockout is to contact a credit union employee at 978-531-5767.

Q. How do I get started using Bill Pay?

 
A. When you go to Luso American Credit Union’s website, you will see a button titled “Bill Pay”. Click the button, and you will be given step-by-step instructions for enrolling in Bill Pay.

Q. How soon can I start making payments using Bill Pay?
 

A. Once you submit the separate online enrollment for Bill Pay, you can begin scheduling payments as soon as your enrollment is processed. Once processed, you will receive an e-mail.

Q. How are payments delivered and how can I ensure that my payee receives my payment by the due date?
 

A. After funds are withdrawn from your designated account, we may remit your payments by electronic funds transfer, or if the payee does not accept electronic payments, by mailing a check drawn on an account we maintain for this purpose, or by some other appropriate means. Because of the time it takes to remit your payment to the payee, they will not receive the payment on the processing date (the date you instruct us to deduct the funds from the account). Therefore, in order to provide sufficient time for payments to be received by your payee, the processing date should be a minimum of five (5) business days before the bill’s actual due date.

Q. Why does it take five business days and sometimes more for payments?
 

A. Although a number of your payees accept payments electronically, many do not. For those that do not accept electronic payments, we must send a check to that payee via US Mail. Once the payee receives the check, it may take a day or so for the payee to process and post the check to your account. Even for electronic payments, it may take two or three days for your account to be posted. Holidays must also be taken into consideration.

Q. What should I do if a payee has not posted my payment?

 
A. First, be sure to allow a minimum of five (5) business days for a payee to receive your payment. Contact your payee and verify whether your payment was received. If it was not received, go to into Bill Pay, and do a Bill Inquiry. Bill Pay will trace your payment and get back to you. Is it easy to use? Of course! Deposit checks in a few simple steps:
1. Login to mobile banking with your existing online banking credentials and select "deposit checks."

If you're a first-time user, choose "accept" after reading through the end user agreement
2. Select the account for your deposit
3. Enter the deposit amount
4. Endorse the check "For Mobile Deposit"
5. Take a picture of the front and back of the check when prompted

6. Confirm the images are correct and select "deposit check"

You can even have the confirmation sent to your email!

Yes. There is a per deposit limit of $1,500.00. If you need a higher limit please contact us.

How do I use it?
Simply login to the Luso American Banking app with your online banking credentials, select "deposit checks" and follow the simple steps to take a picture of the front and back of your checks. If this is your first time to use the system, you will need to read through the end-user agreement and select "accept" to move forward.

Which button do I need to select on the mobile app to begin using Remote Deposit Capture?
Select "deposit checks" and click "submit."

Do I need to endorse my check?
Yes. Please endorse the back of your check in the space indicated with your signature prior to taking a picture of the check to be deposited.

How long should I keep my check?
Please keep your check for 90 days following confirmation of deposit.

What if I receive an error after taking a photo of my deposit?
"Front of check" error means the camera detects a folded and/or torn edge on the check OR that the image is too dark. "View and retake" appears when the front image is not legible. To correct, retake the photo in a well-lit area to avoid shadows, and be sure to keep hands clear of the check to avoid issues.
